A Physicist's Guide to Smoked Gouda

gosh, ive been away so long i need to get myself back into the habit of writing here.

i had so much fun at county chorus. the first day we had 8 hour rehearsal, it really seemed to go so quickly, at 11:30 i could hardly believe it was lunch time already. i guess i just love music so much, the time really flies. i even tried to keep good posture whenever i sang and i didnt have any trouble with that. at school the next day, time seemed to drag until we were dismissed to go to rehearsal. the concert was absolutely gorgeous. i cant wait to get the cd! i remember during the guy's piece, some of the bass notes just sent chills through my spine, they were so low!

tuesday morning i was trying to save my voice in chorus so i sang the tenor part for run to bethlehem. i swear, ever since i lost my voice last year, ive been more and more of an alto. but here i am, second soprano! we need more of them anyway. what i really want to do when i get the cd is attempt to sing along. that way ill finally know whether or not i can hit some of those notes. most of the time at rehearsal i could not hear myself sing.

what was really neat was that at the banquet, we all sang doxology (the hymn we play in marching band)before the meal. even though the only school with any religious affiliation is trinity, we all sang the blessing. during the meal, i kept thinking about how i kind of felt out of place the whole time i was there. there is no way my voice can compare to some of these singers, they are absolutely amazing. i felt out of place because unlike a band festival, (where you are at least grouped by skill, not height!) singing is just not what i do best! i felt like i was just along for the ride sort of.
