wow. this week seems like it has gone by so fast, and yet so much has happened during this one week. on monday, a student called me a bitch and accused me of hitting, pinching, and pulling her hair. the next day, she was requesting extra time with me for tutoring after school. in fact, ive had two after school tutoring sessions this week, with two different students. i had a walkandtalk with another student whose attitude is getting just a bit out of hand and it hasnt seemed to help any yet. and the activity i was most worried about this morning, thinking that they would never in a million years actually sit down and get to task on, they actually did. there was some amount of whining, but when i told them that this writing assignment would become a part of their class newspaper there was still much whining, but the work actually got done. i also got two volunteers to help publish the class newspaper.

unfortunately, due to the number of religious activities taking place in this school, my teaching time has been drastically cut. and since its morning mass, its my math and language arts time that gets shortened. today we had no math at all. i remember when i was in grade school we had mass once a week and it was only half and hour. whats with this mass twice a week and taking upwards of an hour? plus half an hour of rosary time per week? eek!

my kitty, nemesis, is falling asleep in my desk drawer. cute.

im still feeling somewhat alienated since everyone else went to pagosa springs and i declined (damn period). im not really spending a whole lot of time with the others. but i should. tonight i should ask jenny to play swap again, that card game rules. or maybe even watch another movie. ha.

but next week! go jii ya! one full school day on monday and one half day on friday! yay go jii ya! it seems like this break is coming at a most fortunate time for all of the teachers here, just when the honeymoon period is ended and we need some serious rechard time. go jii ya!
