A Physicist's Guide to Smoked Gouda

somebody must like me up there somewhere. ill work backwards.

i just came back from tutoring to find an extensive book on henna and a henna tattoo kit left on my desk by lauren from across the hall. amazing! i also found an email from dave at steds telling the choirfolk that the generous benefactor of steds is offering to take the choir out to a meal on sunday. wow. and i dont even live in steds, so this is really hard for me to believe. before that i was giving a little special extra tutoring session to wasikowski, cause hes my trumpet freshman. i love hanging out with him.

before that i got to talk with jesse on IM (always nice) and before that i ate dinner with becki and amanda and sat outside as the thunderstorm hit. gorgeous. before that i went to the earth day mass at the grotto with father hesburgh (since then shaina has come to me to talk about how spiritual environmentalism can be, and she never realized that before. now she wants to arrange a priest to give an earth day themed homily next year in april. yay). before that i spent a lot of time on fieldhouse mall working on math, watching the approaching storm, and watching people go by. brass ensemble before that, and class and lunch. in modern phys today garg quizzed us on the alkali elements and i remembered everything after rubidium, amazingly enough. he told me that i should get the chemist of the year award, but that i shouldnt be proud of that either.

yesterday evening i found out my grade on the mat test i had takent hat morning: i got an A! an 89! and there was a typo in one of the partial credit problems so everyone got full credit on that one. plus i only lost one point on another partial credit because the grader didnt take off points for carrying through a mistake i had made in one part of the matrix to other parts of the problem. sweet. so much gentler than mechanics.

yesterday afternoon i was bored and decided to take my mechanics exam. just cause i was bored. found that kinda bizarre. but tuesday morning we got our last hw back and the twenty point problem that i completed and photocopied for pat was perfectly correct! pat was very pleased with my work. im really happy about that cause i kind of see it as my way of paying everyone (esp pat) back for all the answers i mooched off of them over the semesters. the way our system works: when the first person is done with a problem, they can photocopy it and place it in a book on a shelf which is known to those seeking answers (this came about after the librarians caught on that we were putting our own answers on reserve for classmates). this last assignment i understood coupled oscillators a little better so i took it upon myself to work out the entire problem for them to copy. im so glad i got it right! it took me quite a while and i ended up eating pizza in the chem phys lib that night.

tomorrow were planning on skipping mech to have a physics breakfast. that will greatly improve my chances of finding my other two classes that day enjoyable.
