02 September 2003 22:30 so. Sunday morning I drove a van load of U.S. citizens back into the states after a night of fun in Canada. All of us had our passports but one, and the border lady made us turn off the car and answer, "What did you do with the monkey bars in your room at school?" Is this a common border question? What on earth? today i learned that im actually a half decent candidate for grad school. american, female, research experience, extracurriculars, experience in grading and tutoring... ive got everything except the grades. and if grades are the first thing that decides whether you go in the sweep it or keep it piles, im screwed. ive got to go mostly on the strength of recommendations from real live people. glowing recommendations. were talking about 2000 K recommendations. hot. ::sighs:: pilates tomorrow. sleep now. |
