A Physicist's Guide to Smoked Gouda

2001-09-27 6:36 a.m.

sixthirty in the morning and i just left booter in the unix computer lab working on engineering. i was lucky, my program that i wrote at lafun only had two problems with it. i was in and out of the lab in about half an hour. i dont expect that will ever happen again.

its times like these that i feel like anne. anne is our friend the architect. archies are the ones with tons of work all the time, and are known for staying overnight in their studios on more than one occassion. ((bond hall: the only co-ed dorm on campus)) weve visited her in studio, and weve seen first hand how long it can take her to do the tiniest part of her studio work. shes always thinking about what work she needs to get done, always looking kinda worn and haggard and generally overworked. a very serious girl, the "mother" figure of her quad. anyway, thats how i feel now. like im putting in insane amounts of time to accomplish so little. what have i got to show for all i did tonight? two looseleaf sheets of incomplete physics scrbbles, one typed page of theological rambling, and half a typed page of pogramming. thats it.

nieuwland is beautiful at six in the morning. it was cool for me and booter to have the whole computer lab to ourselves, to make noise and eat chips and drink lattes if we so choose. its so funny to go somewhere you think will be deserted at such an hour and find someone you actually know.

and thank you again amanda, for accompanying me to lafun, and picking up chips, salsa, and latte for me at reckers, it was much appreciated.

in the way of recreation, i saw the end of "life is beautiful" tonight. wow. such a good movie. also in the way of recreation, garrett came to visit pe tonight. he was sooooo loopy tonight. we were being loud and making noise left and right....when the girl across the hall opened her door and said "darlings, quiet hours start at tenthirty." whoops. garrett was pretty mad about that. guys dorms dont really have "quiet hours" and theyve never really been enforced here. i really dont think the girls across the hall like me very much. i never had a chance to really introduce myself because of band camp, theyve asked me three times now to turn down my classical music, and everytime they walk by my open door all they see are my scary goth posters. i dont know what to do about them.

well, its light out. should i go to mechanics in less than three hours? ::sighs::
